Military: Served three years active duty as an Infantry and JAG officer and 17 years in the Active Reserves. Today he acts as a Veterans Advocate assisting injured veterans obtain their full VA benefits. We try to use Military Vets to help our team whenever possible for property cleanups, maintanance, followup etc.
Prior to Full Time Real Estate: Don spent 20 years as an attorney with the IRS and in private practice as a tax, real estate and Bank Attorney. Tired of the day to day grind of law practice, Don becaume a full time realtor when he moved to the San Diego area in 1993. He got his feet wet with several years of extensive training and experience with Coldwell Banker in La Jolla and North San Diego.
In 2000 Don moved his home and practice to the North San Diego where he has been a Real Estate Broker/Associate for the past ten years. For the past six years, according to the records of the San Diego Multiple Listing Service, the Coldwell Banker offices in San Diego has sold more real estate by dollar volume than any other real estate firm in San Diego County. Community and Family Activities. Don and his better half Eva live in Southeast Carlsbad. His three children are raised and he is the proud grandfather of eight. Rotary: Don is a member and past board member of the Carlsbad Noon Rotary. He was a former member of the Oceanside Rotary. The Motto of Rotary is "Service above Self", a motto Don carries to his Real Estate practice as well as Rotary.
Chamber of Commerce: Don is or has been an active member of the Carlsbad, Oceanside and Encinitas Chamber of Commerce. Christian Church Activity: Don and Eva are active members of North Coast Calvary Church in Carlsbad.Two of Don's three children have served two year European church missions. Don is most active in the military ministry and building fund.

Home Inspections: I love surprises at Christmas and on my Birthday, but not in the middle of a Real Estate Transaction. I generally recommend to the Seller that everything be fixed before we start showing the house. I recommend to my buyers that they do not even think about closing escrow until they have obtained a full inspection by a competent home inspector. I currently recommend:

Virtual Tours: In today’s sophisticated internet marketing I obtain at my cost the services of a Virtual Tour photographer who will provide Pictures, and Cam Photos of your home. These will be placed on the local San Diego Multiple Listing Service and on Realtor.com and other sites within days of taking your listing. I currently recommend:

Notary Public: Don Kenney is a Notary Public licensed by the State of California, he would be happy to Notarize any documents for current or past clients for no charge. If an independent Notary Public is required, example for loan documents where Don represents the Buyer as his realtor I recommend:

Home Warranty: Whether Don is representing the Buyer or the Seller in a transaction he strongly recommends that the Seller provide a Home Warranty covering the major electrical, plumbing, roof and other components of a typical home. This will put the Buyer at ease and save a lot of stress for the Seller if problems later arise. Currently Don recommends:

National Relocation Specialist: One of the major sources of potential buyers are people transferring to the North San Diego area for job relocation.
